Moisturizing and Soothing & Softening Lotion Recipe Making your own natural body lotion has never been better or easier! Natural Lotion Concentrate is the secret ingredient. This recipe will make 16 fl. oz. of lotion. Will fill two 8 oz. lotion bottles. Use a two quart mixing bowl or larger and an electric mixer. Ingredients: 7 oz. Tub of Natural Lotion Concentrate 10 oz. Distilled Water (hot water is recommended; 160°) 1 oz. Sweet Almond Oil 1 oz. Shea Butter or Deodorized Cocoa Butter Any Fragrance Oil may be used. Use approximately 30 drops or more to suit your desired intensity. Melt Shea Butter or Deodorized Cocoa Butter in microwave, low heat for 30 seconds, do not over heat. Add Lotion Concentrate, Sweet Almond Oil and Shea Butter or Deodorized Cocoa Butter in mixing bowl, blend (an electric hand mixer works best). After blending add the warm water and fragrance, continue mixing until thoroughly blended. If a thinner lotion is desired, more water can be added. Bottling Lotion: The lotion must be reheated, a double boiler works best. At 160° the lotion will liquefy. Do Not Boil or Scorch! Use a funnel or a pouring pitcher to fill lotion bottles. Leave caps off until lotion cools, this prevents condensation.
